One of my supporters, LJ user the_vulture, has written an insightful analysis for the series Path of the Paladins. "The Symbolism of 'Stained' " discusses how the imagery and actions in the poem "Stained" reveal thematic aspects of the series and deep spiritual truths. I have linked to this essay from the Serial Poetry page.

The Serial Poetry page has been updated. "Husband by Hand" won the poll and has been published, so that one is now linked. "Will Not" has been opened for microfunding, with a link to the visible portion. Other open epics have also been marked as microfunding.
The Serial Poetry page has been updated with six new poems in Fiorenza, the Italian Herbalist and in Path of the Paladins. These are poems from the donor perk prompts, one of which will be selected in a poll for free posting.
The "Serial Poetry" page now has sections on FOUR new series, with links to eight new poems, most from the July 5, 2011 Poetry Fishbowl with its theme of low fantasy.
"Gloryroad Crossing" is about a little hamlet where adventurers come between adventures. So far there are poems about the barkeeper and the baker. "The Ocracies" is a setting designed to explore other governments than monarchies in fantasy. It begins with the Plutocracy of Aurea, seen from the perspective of two different citizens. "Path of the Paladins" begins with a ruined village and a world-weary hera. Shahana the Paladin soon picks up a traveling companion. The second poem in this series shows someone else's perspective. "Sort of Heroes" introduces Nib and Brod, ex-henchmen of an evil overlord, and the sword that's going to teach them how to be heroes. The second poem introduces a friend of theirs. I have added a section for "The Odd Trio" series to the "Serial Poetry" page. This series features the adventures of Druga the dwarven fighter, Elan the elven bard, and Hope the human cleric.
The new Monster House poem "Rabbit Season" has an Easter theme. It is now linked on the "Serial Poetry" page.
The "Serial Poetry" page now shows a link to the new Monster House poem "Grandma's Kitchen." There is also a link to the sketch of "unfolding wings" by Meeks.
The "Serial Poetry" page has been updated again. "Paper, Scissors, Stone" (a Monster House poem) and "The Truth in the Tower" (a Fiorenza poem) are fully funded now, so you can read the complete poems online by following the links. All participating donors are also listed for those poems. Newly added is a link to "the two alchemists" (an Origami Mage poem) which has been sponsored and published.
This month's Poetry Fishbowl also met the goal for a new perk. There will be a free poem added to the Monster House series. Readers got to vote on which series would receive the extra poem. Donors will get to send me a prompt for it. I've added a link to the "Serial Poetry" page. You can now read the flash fiction "Souvenirs" by Dreamwidth user Aldersprig, set in my Monster House universe by special invitation during the Drakeathon livewriting event.
You can now read my story "The Flight of the Rose Butterfly" over on Torn World. This is the first story posted (though I have another drafted that happens earlier) that features my character Rai, twin brother of ellenmillion's character Bai. It shows their introduction to a popular musical instrument, the harmonichron. This is also a good example of how they cope with Rai's visual handicap. Check out the lovely pen-and-ink illustration that ellenmillion drew for it!
If you like this story and want to see more of these characters, please consider sending me credits or karma through Torn World's crowdfunding options. Same goes if you like the art; tip the artist. |
